ALICE IN THE HEPPLE RAIN

Alice Lascelles, ‘British hard Liquor Hack’ for an impressive array of magazines and broadsheets, arrived this morning with Nick Strangeway. Catching a painfully early train she arrived in, needless to say, signature rain and mist for the full Hepple Distillery experience

WE’RE OFF!

Licenses in, permissions granted, the first day where we have a functioning distillery. The doors of the Development room thrown open – here is one happy distiller. And LOOK – no coat! Can it be that warm at Hepple?

SHE’S ARRIVED!

Our beautiful copper still Baden – herb and fruit district of Germany, where 20,000 little distilleries produce all manner of marvellous liqueurs arrived today. We think Berndt Muller and Herbert Rosch of Muller make the best stills in Baden – designed specifically for the delicate, precise job we have to tease the subtlest flavours from our plants into Hepple Gin.

THE ARRIVAL OF OLD STUBBY

Old Stubby the boiler arrives. And so has Chris Garden! Chris moved from his job as head distiller at Sipsmith to the North East before Valentine tracked him down and asked him whether he would like to work with us. To our delight, he said he would like nothing better than to be clad permanently in a hat, gloves, two coats and a scarf at Hepple. Here he is enjoying the weather, shepherding the boiler into the boilerhouse.
