SUMMER MYRTLE HARVEST

Such a happy couple! On the trail of the eucalyptus-rich Myrica Gale – aka Bog Myrtle.

We are making a Negative Harvest –leaving the stand stronger after the harvest than before. Craig carefully removes the top few inches of fresh leaf…

While Valentine rather more vigorously removes the invasive birch.

Careful with that Axe, Eugene!

The shoots are then laid to dry in the famously powerful Northumbrian sun.

We will store this at minus 20 degrees – where it will keep perfectly for our first distillation next year!
