WALTER RIDDELL- MANAGING DIRECTOR
Walter grew up among the junipers at Hepple and has now returned to his home in the North with his family. Walter is Managing Director Moorland Spirit, and is responsible for the propagation of the gin’s critical botanicals in the Hepple moors, bogs and woods.
CHRIS GARDEN - MASTER DISTILLER
Chris worked as head distiller at London-based Sipsmith for over 5 years before moving to the wilds of Northumberland with his young family. Chris is a graduate from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt, Edinburgh.
VALENTINE WARNER- CO-CREATOR OF HEPPLE GIN
Valentine Warner is a cook, food writer and broadcaster. From an early age he says he understood the world through his mouth and subsequently bit everything from paint tubes to table legs.
It is Val’s own requirement that any ingredients should be understood from unripe to spoiling, raw to scalded so that their full spectrum can be considered. Coupled with a love of nature and food history Valentine is invaluable in choosing and pairing the ingredients in our gin that it finds harmony and life in the bottle. He is more likely to be found in a field clutching a spoon or mossy stick than in the office
NICK STRANGEWAY - CO-CREATOR OF HEPPLE
Nick is recognised as having one of the foremost palates in the business. With an array of international awards including Mixologist of the Year from Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans in 2008, Nick moved into designing his own range of vodkas for bartenders in 2013. Hepple Gin is Nick’s latest and most prized project.
CAIRBRY HILL- PROCESS DESIGNER
Cairbry has worked across the drinks industry for nearly 20 years, in both new product development and marketing for major drinks companies including Diageo and Pernod Ricard. He comes from a scientific background having studied Biochemistry and Microbiology at University College London and has spent much of the last decade researching new distillation and flavouring methods.
Craig lancaster - Graphic designer
Craig has been an Art Director and Designer on some of the UK’s leading magazine titles including, Ministry, Esquire, Q, Tatler, Harpers Bizarre, Candy and Quarterly for over 25 years.
Moving on from the world of magazine publishing, Craig went on to work for Show Media where he re-branded Stolichnaya vodka and Six Senses spa resorts meeting and working with Cairbry Hill.
Having worked with Cairbry on these projects, Craig was invited to join Strange Hill in 2011 in order to set up and lead the creative and design department of the business.
FLYNN WARREN - Southern sales
Flynn is instrumental in organising Hepple events, tastings, and festivals throughout the country. His understanding of the London bar scene drives him to educate the masses about Hepple's story. Having worked in cocktail bars and the photography industry, he has the ability to photograph and - most importantly - serve the best cocktails.
